Background:

It had been a while since I had been challenged to learn a language, I had only been dabbling in languages over the last few months with seriously studying them, and I had not been playing music for a while, so… Jen challenged me to learn 4 Portuguese songs over the month. A nice plan to get me back on track towards some of the hobbies I have enjoyed over the years.

The Month:

I started off pretty well… I had learned the guitar parts to a couple songs in Portuguese and was slowly learning the lyrics. I find that I do like a lot of the Portuguese music out there, old and new, and having some friends either from Brazil or currently living in Brazil help with finding some nice options for me.

Successful?

Total failure. After about a week worked picked up again and this challenge got left behind. As I write this blog article now on 28-Nov-2016 I regret not completing this challenge. It seems clear to me that my priorities are in my work, which is great, but I do feel the need to spend more time focusing on me and my other interests… exercise, language, travel, and adventure. Moving forward this will be my new priority.
